My New Wheels

Have been wanting a Carbon Fiber bike fo awhile now. Found this frame from (supposedly) the same people that make the Scott frames. I really like the Pinarello style front fork.
This thing is amazing, quick responsive and you can really feel the power getting transmitted to the rear wheel.

Ultegra group except for the cranks FSA. Triple/10.

1st Tri - The Wildman

Joined the local Triathlon team ... Lakeland Landsharks and was training with them in the pool and some on the bike.

Well the Wildman was just that. During the first leg of the swim I thought I wouldn't be able to finish the swim. Was completely out of my form and completely exhausted. Just kept slugging along and finally on th elast leg was able to get into some sort of form (stll only breast stroke) and finished in a little over 20 min.
Had a real good bike section, averaged 20MPH and could have done it faster, but was saving it for the run (not knowing what it would be like). The new bike and the (old) aero bars make for a great combination. I feel more comfortable in the aero position then on the hoods.
The run was my "standard" 10 min mile pace. I actually ran down the leader of my age group and won by more than 1:30.
WOW!!!! First Tri in 20 years and won my age group (55-59)!!!.
Now hold on. I came in 93rd of 136 and to humble me .... If I was in the 65-69 age group, I wouldn't have even placed!!!!

I got to work on my swim. Lost 6+ min to the 2nd place guy in my group on the swim and 7:30 minutes to my son (wouldn't expect to beat him, but lost most my time on the swim and only gained a little on the bike and transitions.

Since then have worked hard on the swim and this week was able to do 500yd. sets in the pool with only 1:30 between all with free style, and in 11:20. If I can string these together I can make my goal of a 35min 1500M. Still lots of work yet.

Headed out this weekend to ride the St. Anthony's route.
P.S. couldn't keep the fact that I was signed up from my som much longer since the waves are being posted next week. Also I real proud of the fact that we will have 3 generations competing at St. Anthony's with my grandson Max participating in the Meek and Mighty tri portion of St. anthony's'
